Along with the domination of extreme right wing policies of cultural
relativism in Western countries and the rise of political Islam in the
Middle East and North Africa in the past two decades, women and children in
Islamic environs in the West have become the victims of systematic
discrimination and rightlessness. Universality of rights has been openly
violated and basic and recognised rights in the West achieved as a result
of decades of struggle by progressive, socialist and secular people have
been effectively and officially set aside for women and children in Islamic
families. Islamic schools and Koran classes have mushroomed all over with
the support and subsidies of Western and Islamic governments; thousands of
children in different European countries have been sent to these schools to
be brainwashed. In the heart of Europe, child marriages in accordance to
Sharia law have been legal and under-aged girls have been forced into
marriage. The veil, the symbol of sexual apartheid and women's
rightlessness and humiliation, has been imposed on young girls and
swimming, dancing, music and sex education have been prohibited. The
circumcision of boys has been made legal. Violence against women and girls
and honour killings have increased and courts in Western countries have
given perpetrators and murderers reduced sentences by invoking the notion
that honour killing is acceptable in Islam. All of these have been
justified by politicians, the media and academics with the racist theory of
cultural relativism and 'it's their own culture'. These last two decades
have been truly regressive decades for humanity.

No matter how this discrimination and rightlessness are justified, however,
they are clearly racist and must end. It is deeply shameful for humanity
that laws from the Stone Ages have darkened the lives of a section of women
and children and that minimum freedoms established in the West is denied
them. The Worker-communist Party of Iran announces the following platform,
which guarantees our most basic demands for the elimination of the
above-mentioned discrimination and for the advancement of universal civil
rights. The WPI calls on all progressives, socialists, children's and
women's rights advocates, supporters of equality and those against
discrimination as well as anti-racists to support this platform and impel
European governments to immediately accept these demands:

1. Immediate prohibition of religious schools and education for children.
Recruiting children to religious sects, places and ceremonies must be
declared a criminal offence.
2. Veiling children is a violation of children's right and must be
immediately declared unlawful.
3. Immediate prohibition of children's circumcision.
4. Termination of all government subsidies, grants and payments to
religious organisations and institutions.
5. Prohibition of any reduced sentences or justifications for those who
kill or abuse women.
6. An end to a policy of ghetto-isation.
7. Establishment of an institution for the protection of children who are
faced with any type of religious discrimination, harassment and rightlessness.
8. Establishment of an institution for the protection of women who are
threatened because of honour.
9. Immediate granting of asylum to women and girls who have fled
Islamic-ridden societies.
10. Financial and moral support to secular and egalitarian organisations
and campaigns.
