Two Poems
By Anna Maria Sanchez, A Young Poet
Eternal Autumn
When the night is still outlined by the sun,
and the crisp wind makes me breathe in, so deep,
that is when I think about life
and all of my needs I must meet.
When the fallen leaves lay on the ground,
and the sound of them under my feet makes me sad,
that is when I think of all my shattered dreams
and life's events make me mad.
When I hear the rain fall softly to the ground,
and I watch the puddles being created so fast,
that is when I think of my limited time on earth
and appreciate how long it will last.
When the deep night sky swallows my soul,
and the stars dance and shine,
that is when I think of heaven and my death,
and then everything eternal will be mine.
Room for Improvement
Run away from the past,
reach for the future,
make it yours to last.
The memories will sustain,
remember the good times,
there will be less pain.
Surrender all your feelings,
breathe in hope,
begin the process of healing.
Let go of the pain,
make yourself smile,
unlock the chains.
Persuade happier emotions,
live a cheerful life,
and you'll feel improved sensations.
